UK IT Recycling Ltd was started in 2004 by the directors Justin and Rachel Pearce. The company has gone from strength to strength growing into the dynamic and trusted company of today. We have a wide range of clients from NHS and local government , to schools, universities and many small and large, national and international private businesses, each of whom has a service individually tailored for their own particular needs.

We pride ourselves in being the best when it comes to customer service and expertise in IT recycling, waste management and in particular to data destruction, which is, in this day and age of the upmost importance. Our long experience in the industry ensures all our staff have a wealth of knowledge and our experience allows us to not only comply with all current legislation, but to surpass it.

Since 2007 the WEEE directive has stated that all redundant computer equipment is classed as E waste. It also states that CRT monitors are classed as Hazardous waste, therefore the recycler you use must be fully licensed with the Environment Agency, in order to be able to handle this equipment and be fully compliant with the WEEE Regulations. Companies that collect waste must be registered waste carriers and their site must have an environmental permit or an appropriate registered exemption.

UK IT Recycling Ltd holds full Public Liability Insurance of £5,000,000 and is therefore fully insured to work on your site. As a responsible employer, UK IT Recycling also hold full Employers Liability insurance of £10,000,000.

We have strict Health and Safety Policies for both on site and off site work. Copies of our Health and Safety Policies are available on request, or please contact our Health and Safety Officer, Justin Pearce, for more information or if a full survey and risk assessment of your site is required.

Legal liabilities

UK IT Recycling Ltd accepts full legal liability for any equipment from the time it is received by us i.e. covering any subsequent damage or injury arising from the malfunctioning of the covered technical assets. We hold comprehensive public liability insurance. UK IT Recycling Ltd complies fully with the requirements of the Data Protection Registrar.

Hard disk data wiping

All computers received and processed by UK IT Recycling Ltd have all data removed. All hard discs are either destroyed or overwritten to Government standards depending on your requirements. We are able to conduct fully unrecoverable disk wipe and multiple all-sector over-writes of hard disks to US Department of Defense and UK Communications – Electronics Security Group (CESG) baseline and enhanced standards. Any hard disk that cannot be over written will be destroyed by us. We will not harm the environment by incinerating hard drives or media and we will never use a third party to carry out data destruction work. All data destruction work is carried out by UK IT Recycling Ltd.

We do not use third parties for any aspect of recycing, data destruction or computer disposal.
